One side of the jar is adorned with a striking depiction of a winning mahjong combination known as "十三么" (sap saam jiu). The intricately detailed mahjong tiles are beautifully arranged to create this auspicious hand.
On the flip side of the jar, four players can be seen deeply engrossed in a spirited game of mahjong. They are gathered around a custom mahjong table in a classic Chinese home setting, capturing the essence of traditional leisure and camaraderie.
The top rim of the jar is elegantly embellished with a longevity meander, symbolizing a wish for a long and prosperous life. Just below this, a Ruyi trim adds an extra touch of elegance and cultural significance.
The lid of the jar is adorned with the Chinese character "發" (fat), good fortune which transforms the jar into a representation of the "食糊" winning hand, adding a layer of symbolism and authenticity to this remarkable piece of art.
