Chinese coin dishes on pedestals are designed to hold candles or other small items. The Chinese believe that old Chinese coins will ward off evil spirits and are sometimes worn as pendents. This hand made item is constructed of brass that is sand casted, hand worked and chemically oxidized to bring out the natural green coloured patina, characteristic of oxidized brass.
